Harness Mounting Guidelines
We have a firm belief in Safety First as well as proper education for our Novice Drivers!
-
Professional Classroom Instruction
-
Novice drivers have a dedicated classroom time to help you learn on-track behaviors, courtesy and safety. This classroom is designed to get you up to speed quickly and safely and help you build good learning habits
-
Advanced classroom is available for any experience levels detailing vehicle dynamics as well as driving styles for your specific vehicle
-
-
Very talented and experienced MSF certified instructors available for both Novice and Experienced drivers
-
We have instructors that are specifically trained and reserved for Novice drivers to help you get a hang of on-track procedures, safe behavior, and information specific to each track
-
We also have advanced instructors that will help you cut down your lap, no matter your experience level
-
-
We believe in allowing you freedoms on track in a controlled and safe manner.
-
We demand great sportsmanship and our drivers always deliver just that. We do not tolerate unsafe behaviors. Our goal is to get you home how you came, with just a bigger smile on your face
-
The ONLY way to learn certain driving skills is ON Track. We provide you that opportunity
-
Tech and safety requirements
We require all vehicles to meet our safety standards to keep both yourself and others safe on track. Your safety is our number priority, and Tech inspectors will do everything they can to get you on track, but you are ultimately responsible for your safety! Any failure to meet these requirements is your responsibility and you will not be refunded. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or specific scenarios!
Personal safety
-
Helmets
-
Helmets are required for all on-track events
-
Helmets must be DOT rated or better.*** We encourage Snell automotive rated helmets rated 2015 or newer
-
***NCM will only allow Snell 2015 or newer automotive helmets. Motorcycle Snell ratings do not count. Look for a yellow chin strap!
-
NCM and Gingerman raceway have helmet rentals, the rest of our tracks do not. Please do not rely on rentals and always make sure you are covered!
-
-
Attire
-
Long pants and closed toed shoes are required. Shoes must be made of a decent material. "Sock-like" designer shoes or outdoor toe shoes are not permitted
-
Some tracks may allow shorts during their casual events, but we will always require proper attire regardless of what you may have experienced elsewhere
-
Some tracks may have attire for sale but please always come prepared!
-
Vehicle safety *Not meeting these safety standards will disqualify vehicles from participating without refund. You may return with a different vehicle as long as it receives tech approval on your return*
-
Vehicles may not have any fluid leaks.
-
This includes oil, coolant, power steering, etc.
-
Leaking fluids onto the track reduces the grip of the surface and creates an unsafe environment by reducing the expected grip
-
Turn A/C off when entering the paddock area. A/C drips water which adversely affects the grip of the track surface
-
-
All parts on and in your vehicle must be fastened securely and correctly
-
Over or under tightening wheels may cause failures on track. Please make sure wheels are tightened to spec
-
Loose parts may cause hazards for yourself and other drivers. Any loose body work or add-ons must be secured before continuing to tech inspection.
-
Floor mats on the drivers side must be fastened or removed. If they don't clip in, remove them! We encourage removing floor mats regardless of fastening.
-
Batteries must be fastened securely using either the OEM mount or a battery tie down. If your OEM mount seems loose, please add an additional tie down. Batteries are heavy and loose batteries may cause unforeseen damage
-
Any items like radar detectors or loose hanging items must be removed. We encourage cleaning out your center console and glove box but as long as they remain closed and cannot open accidentally, small items in this area are okay
-
All mounted cameras and extra in-cabin equipment like timers or tuning equipment must be secured well. This means hard mounts or solid suction mounts. We will give all mounted equipment a quick shake
-
There may be no items lose in the drivers cabin or otherwise
-
If your tech inspector notices something loose you will be asked to secure these items or remove them
-
-
Aftermarket safety items including seats and harnesses
-
Seats and harnesses must be tight and secured. Loose seats , seat belts, or harnesses will be an instant fail in tech
-
Harnesses must be mounted properly for your safety. Please see the harness mounting guidelines in the links area. If harnesses are not mounted safely we will ask you to use your factory 3 point seat belt. 4 point harnesses are strongly discouraged unless using a proper anti-submarining belt. Rule of thumb is: if you're not sure, use the factory seat belt. Tech inspectors will be happy to help you correct any harness issues outside of tech inspection. Once a tech inspector has approved your harnesses, they may approve them for use
-
Fire extinguishers must be within date and mounted securely. A loose or out of date fire extinguisher is a huge hazard as they can become a very heavy projectile. Out of date extinguishers cannot pass tech as we cannot conclude their stability. They have dates for a reason!

-
